Editorial Board Member Selection Process


The Editorial Board of Samshodh: International Multidisciplinary Research Journal (SIMRJ) plays a central role in maintaining academic quality, integrity, and international relevance. The Board reflects the journal’s commitment to excellence, interdisciplinary representation, geographic diversity, and ethical publishing standards.

Selection Process

Appointment to the Editorial Board follows a structured and transparent process to ensure merit based selection and subject expertise.

Application and Nomination

  • Academicians, researchers, and industry professionals may apply by submitting an updated curriculum vitae along with a brief statement of interest.
  • Qualified candidates may also be nominated by existing Editorial Board members or academic institutions.
  • Applications must clearly demonstrate research expertise, publication record, and willingness to contribute to the journal.

Initial Screening

  • Verification of academic qualifications and professional background.
  • Assessment of publication record and peer review experience.
  • Evaluation of subject expertise in relation to the journal’s scope, including multidisciplinary areas and Indian Knowledge Systems.
  • Consideration of geographic and institutional diversity.

Evaluation and Approval

  • Shortlisted candidates are reviewed by the Editor in Chief in consultation with senior editorial members.
  • A sample manuscript review may be requested to assess review quality, objectivity, and timeliness.
  • Final approval is granted based on academic merit and alignment with the journal’s mission.

Appointment and Tenure

  • Selected candidates receive a formal appointment letter.
  • Editorial Board membership is normally granted for a term of three years.
  • Membership may be renewed based on performance and active contribution.
  • The Board composition is reviewed periodically to ensure balanced representation and continued engagement.

Editorial Structure

The Editorial Board may include the following roles:

  • Editor in Chief: Provides academic leadership, oversees peer review, and ensures adherence to ethical standards.
  • Managing Editor: Supervises editorial operations and coordinates communication.
  • Associate Editors: Manage manuscript review processes within their areas of expertise.
  • Section Editors: Handle submissions in specialized disciplines.
  • Editorial Advisory Board Members: Provide strategic guidance and promote the journal globally.
  • Review Board Members: Conduct peer review and recommend editorial decisions.

Editorial Board Member Criteria

  • Hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Possess a strong record of peer reviewed publications.
  • Demonstrate expertise aligned with the journal’s interdisciplinary scope.
  • Have prior experience in peer review or editorial responsibilities.
  • Maintain professional integrity and commitment to publication ethics.

Responsibilities of Board Members

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely peer review, normally within two to four weeks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and related materials.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when necessary.
  • Promote the journal within academic and professional networks.
  • Support initiatives that enhance journal quality and international visibility.

Service on the Editorial Board is voluntary and honorary. Members contribute in a professional capacity to strengthen research quality, uphold ethical standards, and advance scholarly communication.
